About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Motricities Journal (Revista Motricidades) is a scientific publication of the Society for Qualitative Research in Human Motricity (SPQMH) and aims to disseminate original research, critical theoretical reviews and unpublished essays with a focus on qualitative methodologies in the area of Education, especially in its interface with the fields of Arts, Environment, Human Motricity, Health, Leisure and Physical Education. The manuscripts may be submitted in Portuguese, Spanish or English.

Peer Review Process

All submissions will be previously peer-reviewed by Editorial Board, having as criterias adequacy, quality and originality of the articles. If they meet the minimum criteria of the journal, they will be forward to at least two ad hoc reviewers, indicated among researchers of recognized competence, specialists in the contents of the submission proposals. The confidentiality of the authors' names, reviewers and institutions will be maintained throughout the evaluation.

2. Suitability to submitted section (Research Article, Review Article or Academic Essay).

3. Scientific relevance to the area and potential for receiving citations.

4. Up-to-date and scope of the discussed topic

5. Originality and contributions.

6. Structure and organization of the text.

7. Ethical care and procedures (Declaration of Ethics and Good Practices).

8. Cohesion and textual coherence.

9. Clarity and argumentative consistency.

10. Pertinence and relevance of the bibliography referenced and use of ABNT standards.

11. Adequacy of the Portuguese, English and Spanish versions of the title, abstract and keywords.

Publication Frequency

Four-monthly publication.

Open Access Policy

This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle that providing free scientific knowledge to the public provides greater global democratization of knowledge.

Declaration of Ethics and Good Practices

The Motricities Journal affirms its commitment to good scientific dissemination practices and the highest ethical standards in academic evaluation and publication.

Therefore, it values respecting the following responsibilities:

FROM THE AUTHORS
The authors declare that:
1- The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal;
2- Authors or sources were duly referenced;
3- All authors of the submitted text participated significantly in the investigation;
4- Possible conflicts of interest were duly informed when the contribution was submitted;
5- Source of financial support for the execution of the research was duly informed;
6- Any significant errors or inaccuracies found in your work will be immediately notified to the Editors of the magazine;
7- The text will be revised considering the pertinence of the reviewers' suggestions.

FROM THE EDITORS
The editors declare that:
1- All submitted material will be analyzed in an anti-plagiarism program and in case of irregularities, there will be communication to the authors for adjustments and resubmission.
Submissions will be refused, if irregularities persist and if any type of plagiarism is proven in texts already published, these will be removed from the system;
2- Decisions on whether or not to accept submissions will be based exclusively on the opinions, focus and scope of the journal and guidelines for authors;
3- All submissions will be previously analyzed by the Editorial Team, having as criteria the suitability, quality and originality of the texts.
If they meet the journal's minimum criteria, at least two ad hoc reviewers will be referred, nominated among researchers of recognized competence, specialists in the content of the submission proposals (one more reviewer may be appointed if the editors consider a third evaluation necessary);
4- The confidentiality of the names of authors, referees and institutions will be maintained throughout the evaluation flow;
5- Authors are guaranteed the right to appeal editorial decisions;
6- Complaints about submitted or published papers will be answered taking into account principles of transparency and good practices in academic publications.

FROM THE REVIEWERS
The reviewers declare that:
1- All submissions received within the scope of the peer review will be treated as confidential documents;
2- The evaluations will be carried out in an objective, clear and guided by arguments, with due scientific rigor;
3- The editors will be notified immediately if the manuscript is within the scope of the evaluator's research and if there is availability to evaluate the text;
4- The evaluation will be rejected immediately if there is any conflict of interest;
5- The editors will be informed immediately if there is an identification of bad research practices, copyright violations or plagiarism in the texts received for evaluation.

Verification and Combat Plagiarism Policy

The Motricities Journal will follow the Guidelines for Integrity in Scientific Activity of CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) and the Principles of Transparency and Good Practices in Academic Publications of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics ) in the combat against plagiarism. All submitted material will be analyzed in an anti-plagiarism program and in case of irregularities, there will be communication to the authors for adjustments and resubmission.
Submissions will be refused, if irregularities persist and if any type of plagiarism is proven in texts already published, these will be removed from the system.

Backup and Data Recovery

The Motricities Journal maintains electronic backup of the content published in HD and on the Dropbox, Google Drive and Onedrive platforms.

The Revista Motricidades (Motricities Journal) invites researchers from the area of Education, in its interfaces with Arts, Physical Education, Leisure, Environment, Human Motricity and Health, to submit manuscripts.

Journal History

The Revista Motricidades (Motricities Journal) is edited by the Society of Qualitative Research in Human Motricity (SPQMH), based at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar).

SPQMH was founded in June 2003, with the intention of developing studies with qualitative methodologies in the area of Human Motricity. Throughout the years, research has also been incorporated, focusing on the perspective of Epistemologies of the South, Ecology of Knowledge and Dialogical Pedagogy, in the areas of Arts, Education, Physical Education, Leisure, Environment, Human Motricity and Health.
