Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.
  • The text follows the Guidelines for publication described in Guidelines for Authors.
  • The text follows ethical standards of publication (Declaration of Ethics and Good Practices).
  • All authors have an ORCID record.

Author Guidelines

Rules for publication:

1. The Revista Motricidades (Motricities Journal) publishes research papers, review articles and strictly unpublished essays (in printed and electronic media), in Portuguese, Spanish and English, in the area of Education, in its interfaces with Arts, Physical Education, Leisure, Environment and Health.

2. The deadline for the processing of the works sent to the journal, considering the time between submission dates and final decision on publication, will be a maximum of 6 (six) months.

3. In the Research Articles section, articles will be published that communicate original completed research; In the section Review articles will be published unpublished articles of literature review or the state of the art; In the section Essays will be published unpublished texts of opinative character, that indicate the perspectives of the authors on controversial subjects

4. All submissions will be analyzed in advance by Editorial Board, having as criteria the adequacy, quality and originality of the texts. If they meet the minimum criteria of the journal, they will be sent to at least two ad hoc reviewers, indicated among researchers of recognized competence, specialists in the contents of the submission proposals. The confidentiality of the authors' names, reviewers and institutions will be maintained throughout the evaluation process.

5. Submissions should be made exclusively through the magazine's website at http://motricidades.org. It is necessary to register as author for paper submission at the electronic address http://www.motricidades.org/journal/index.php/journal/user/register.

6. The submission file must be in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice or RTF format.

7. Article Text - no author identification: the name of the author or authors, as well as of the institution or institutions should not appear in the body of the text submitted. Article Text - with author identification: the full name, position or function, institutional link, ORCID and e-mail of all authors must be inserted.

8. All papers in the Research Articles, Review Articles or Essays sections should be between 30,000 and 45,000 characters long (from the title to the end of the references), Times New Roman font, size 12, spacing 1,5 between rows. Mandatory structure: Title of the work, containing up to 12 words; Abstract, containing between 700 and 1,000 characters with space; Keywords, containing between 3 and 5; Introduction, Development and Final Considerations, with other nomenclatures allowed; References, according to NBR-6023, of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT). The title, abstract and keywords should always be presented in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

9. Citations inserted in the text, with up to three authors, must be separated with a comma. Example: According to Gonçalves Junior, Lemos, Corrêa (2013). Above three authors, only the first and the expression et al. without italics. Example: (Gonçalves Junior et al., 2014, p.89).

In this section will be published original papers of opinative character that indicate author's perspective about controversial subjects.
